Naivasha has drawn steady residential investment — second homes, retirement builds and rental developments serving a growing local economy. We have completed both a luxury private home and a residential development there.
Ruaka, with a site-based team for the project duration
The Rift Valley floor around Naivasha carries volcanic soils and, in places, loose ash and pumice deposits. These behave nothing like the clays around Nairobi — bearing capacity varies sharply over short distances, and an assumption carried over from a Nairobi project can be badly wrong. A site investigation here is not a formality.
Many Naivasha homes are occupied at weekends or seasonally. That changes what you should specify: security that works unattended, water storage that copes with an irregular supply, and finishes and systems that tolerate being shut up for weeks without someone noticing a leak. We design and specify for how the house will actually be used.
Specialist trades and some materials still travel from Nairobi or Nakuru town. We plan procurement around that, consolidate deliveries, and where the programme justifies it we base a site team locally rather than commuting. It is priced transparently in the tender rather than appearing later as an extra.
We regularly work in and around:
Two completed residential projects in Naivasha, including a modern luxury home and a multi-unit residential development.
